Common questions

How do I download Patch?

Patch is free on iPhone. While our App Store release is in review, Patch installs through Apple TestFlight — install TestFlight from the App Store, then tap here to install Patch. If you hit any trouble, email us and we'll help you get set up.

I'm not receiving my verification code

Patch signs you in with your phone number and a 6-digit text message code. If it doesn't arrive:

Check that the number you entered is correct, including the country code.
Wait 60 seconds and request a new code — carrier delivery can lag.
Make sure you aren't blocking messages from unknown senders.
Still stuck? Email us with the number you're trying to use and we'll look into it.

Who can see my check-ins?

Only the small group of people you've added to your patch. There is no public feed, no followers, and no algorithm. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail on what we collect and why.

How do I add or remove someone from my patch?

Open the Friends screen in the app to invite someone by contact or remove them. Removing someone immediately stops them from seeing any of your future check-ins.

How do I turn notifications off?

Go to Settings on your iPhone, find Patch in the app list, then tap Notifications and turn off Allow Notifications. You can keep using Patch with notifications off.

How do I delete my account and my data?

You can request full deletion at any time. Email willbott@yourpatchapp.com from the address associated with your account, or with the phone number you signed up with, and ask us to delete your account. We remove your profile, check-ins, and associated data within 30 days and confirm by reply.

Does Patch use my health data?

No. Patch does not read or collect any health or fitness data from Apple Health or anywhere else.

Is Patch free?

Yes. Patch is free during the beta, with no ads and nothing to buy.
